Example of a simple wireless device application to real-time check quality parameters of individual package of raw material. This includes the thermal exposure tracking of the material, and thaw control of frozen material. Om voor elk individueel rijtuig (ongeveer 3000 stuks) een aantal van de geautomatiseerde diensten (reiniging, onderhoud, enz...) te verzekeren heeft NMBS resoluut gekozen voor het inzetten van RFID technologie.
Of hoe een gewaagd NMBS idee, "binnen een sterk genormeerde en geregulariseerde omgeving", via het inzetten van de juiste middelen, omgezet wordt in een bedrijfszekere applicatie.

This session explains the different use cases a RTLS system can fulfill, and how Enterprise use of such infrastructure, saves money and provides a competitive edge. In the cases, we cover a couple of unique applications in the Healthcare; such as Telemetry, internal patient transport, OR management and the usage of AGV's. But also cases within Manufacturing and Logistics will be addresses. A comparison between the different RTLS technologies being used, and reasons behind the choices made, completes the session.

Description:
BRIDGE is a European Union funded 3-year Integrated Project addressing ways to resolve the barriers to the implementation of RFID and EPCglobal technologies in Europe. Seven Business work packages have been set up to identify the opportunities, establish the business cases and perform trials and implementations in various sectors including anti-counterfeiting, pharmaceuticals, textile, manufacturing, re-usable assets, products in service and retail non-food items. The project includes an important research and development program in various aspects of RFID hardware, software, network and security. A series of horizontal activities is providing training and dissemination services, enabling the adoption of the technology on a large scale in Europe for the sectors addressed by BRIDGE and beyond.
The BRIDGE project will end in August 2009. It is expected that the project deliverables and the acquired expertise will have an impact on the technology and on its adoption well beyond the lifetime of the project. This presentation will summarize the main conclusions of the various areas that have been addressed by the BRIDGE project.
